THE PEOPLE BEHIND OUR AWARD WINNING DESIGNS

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Jeffreys Interiors began life over 100 years ago as a family business nestled in Leith. Jeff Laing, who started out as 'the curtain boy', took over the business in the early 2000s and introduced its new interior design service, recruiting Alison Vance to lead the charge. After relocating to a Georgian townhouse in Stockbridge, the husband-and-wife team began building the design side of the business in earnest... which, in the mid-2010s, involved hiring two bright young sparks (if we say so ourselves) as design assistants.

Jo Aynsley and Georgina Fraser impressed Jeff – who was of the belief that one must keeping moving forward – with their determination, talent and passion for design (and Alison eventually warmed up to them, too) . The pair spent several years working hard and climbing the rungs of the interior design ladder, from helping out as assistants to taking on their own projects and clients – and along the way, they played a large role in developing and shaping the business. So when Jeff and Alison decided to retire and sell up, the choice of who to trust with the future of Jeffreys Interiors seemed obvious...

DIRECTORS

Jo and Georgina officially took the helm in 2021 , and are proud to lead an independent, female-centred team with a focus on building meaningful relationships with clients and catering to an eclectic range of individual tastes.

They asked the rest of the team what they would do if they were Director for a day, and everyone said they would take the day off and hope nothing bad happened, so it's probably a good thing these two are in charge.

JO AYNSLEY
Design Director

Jo knew from a young age she wanted to be an interior designer, and charged at it with unbending drive and entrepreneurial spirit (if you bought one of the cushions she designed, created and sold in her university days , hang on to it... it'll surely be worth millions one day).

She's done some impressive stuff over the years, including designing windows for Julian Chichester at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour , featuring in the Andrew Martin Review Book (several times), creating award-winning designs like Yester House , and receiving glowing a review from The Times for her work on The Tempus.

GEORGINA FRASER
Managing Director

Georgina took a slightly more circular route into interior design. Her business and management-focused degree, background in hospitality and operations, multiple creative passions (how many evening art classes is too many?), and stint working alongside and learning from her seamstress mother, whirled together and formed the perfect candidate for cat-herding at an interior design company.

She's done some impressive things too, including introducing the concept of spreadsheets to the business . Lucky for you, she's probably the first person you'll speak to when you get in touch. You can call her Georgenius. She loves it, promise.

OUR TEAM

We (Jo and Georgina) couldn't do it all on our own, of course. Hiring the right people is important to us, and we're proud to work alongside some of the most lovely, talented and passionate folks around.

Believe it or not, our youthful team have over 100 years of combined experience.

DESIGN TEAM

Our designers are brimming with passion and enthusiasm, and they have all the technical credentials to boot, including years of experience in residential design, kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, and soft furnishings.

Fair warning: don't be surprised when they enrapture you with ideas you never even dreamed of as they unleash their creativity on your project.

Our showroom team have a wealth of knowledge and experience in sourcing, buying, and curating the unique and the beautiful. Whether you're looking for the perfect curtains, a new bespoke sofa, or your room is simply missing a certain je ne sais quoi, they'll find just the thing.
