Layers, layers and more layers. Minimalism is out, maximalism is in – for the right kind of rule-breaking, fun-loving establishment. Enter: Charlton Hall, the wedding venue we took to the very edges of daring. We’re talking pattern on pattern, antique alongside eccentric, design that demands a second glance.

Maximalism is not gaudy. It is not garish. Maximalism is curated clashing colours. It is the unexpected details – the fringed cushion, the tassel trim, the contrast piping. It is the riotous harmony of stripe on damask on botanical. Maximalism is intrigue, it is vibrance and it is life.

    Maximalism is for the bold.

Giving an interior designer full autonomy to go wild with my country house was not only nerve wracking, but also quite a risk. My beloved house in the hands of someone else, yikes!

It turned out to be a risk worth taking. I remember fondly looking through the designs, a visual journey of what Charlton Hall would become. The excitement was surreal.

The designs surpassed my expectations and more, which is a testament to their skills and knowledge. I would strongly recommend Jeffreys Interiors to help with the design of your dream interior. You really cannot go wrong.
